People must have forgotten that early Sketch adopters were loud and annoying too. If they kept to themselves, we'd all still be on Photoshop/Illustrator because everybody thought it was good enough at the time.

The move from Photoshop to Sketch was disruptive from a product and price standpoint, the move from Sketch to Figma is iterative.

No hate on either one, they both have their place.

Figma is disruptive with price and features. Instead of buying Sketch+Invision+Zeplin+Version Control, it's all in one tool. It works on Windows, Chromebooks, and Mac. Real-time collaboration means faster and easier meetings with fewer headaches. Designs are updated in real-time without uploading and generating a new link. "Fire alarm" designs with a team happen so much faster because we can split the design and see what everybody is working on.

It really is not the same thing. Figma is just another version, with some other features and different interpretations of the same way of designing interfaces. The jump from PS to sketch was not that, it meant adopting a new way of designing, that Photoshop did not support at the time.
