Interesting concept. What's the real benefit, as a designer, to get paid in perks rather than money?

Yeah exactly! It’s based online Gift Economy

Could you elaborate? :) To me "gift economy" is about giving, without expecting something in return. From my understanding this site is more in line with"barter economy". Which i still find Interesting, but what's the benefit, as a designer, of getting payed in perks rather than money?

You can avoid tax by dealing with cash also, with the added benefit being that cash can help you buy food or pay for your rent.

Or you could receive food as a Perk ;) But I think it goes without saying the differences between cash and perks haha.

I think the answer is pretty obvious: if a designer sees value in trading their skills for something in return, then they can do so. It would benefit them in whatever way they perceive the value.

Asking a single person to quantify the benefit or value of a service from someone else's perspective (or an entire industry since you're stating designers as a whole) is quite silly.
