I reallyl like how The Verge takes the time and care to craft unique art direction for each of their longform articles—

• animating subtle stutters in the headings of "Speak, Memory" or huge visual glitches in the images and headings of "Anatomy of a Hack",
• communicating audible ideas through silent spot illustrations/animations in "Sound Descision", and
• embracing the branding of the subject matter in "Translating Seinfeld" and "Tastemaker".
