    Is Project Comet the reason why Adobe shut off development of Adobe Fireworks?

      Have a feeling they discontinued Fireworks to force people onto Photoshop. I have another feeling that Comet is a response to the popularity Sketch and similar apps. Lots of feelings here.

      Hi,

      We stopped development of Fireworks because we didn't believe it was possible to transform the product, both from a feature and architecture perspective, to deliver a solution we believed was fit for the future.

      We believe that Adobe XD represents the future of design... one that is unconstrained by the past and that enables us to iterate fast based on feedback from designers.
