      I'm sure this wasn't their decision and renaming from Comet to Adobe XD was someone higher up in the chain to be consistent with the rest of their suite. But I agree: not sure how I feel about the official name.

      How does the word "Comet" describe user experience design?

      Citing some of the clearer Adobe application names: Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, Animate, Audition, Bridge, InCopy

      Less clear : Dreamweaver (Macromedia), Flash (Macromedia), Acrobat, Muse

      Ha! While we loved Comet as a codename, we wanted to make sure there was a connection between the product name and what the tool is for. We want to help you design and share compelling user experiences, so Experience Design makes that clear. We also needed to make sure it worked alongside Adobe's other tools from a naming and positioning perspective. Shortening it to XD makes it less of a mouthful though, so you'll see us refer to it mostly as that :)

      Naming is one of those things where I don't think it is possible to please everyone - our focus now is on making an amazing product. Hopefully that will come through, such that it doesn't matter as much whether you like or loath the name...
