I think the question arises out of a need to satisfy the non-technical clients who want a simple-to-manage site but don't want to pay for or deal with a backend CMS of any sort (the mythical unicorn). Your explanation makes perfect sense and, again, I really like the overall design and intuitive UI. I may put this into use in the future :)
