    I worked for a company and they INSISTED on crap like this. I hammered against these types of decisions to such an extent I became like their enemy and they later let me go.

    Don't always blame the designers.

      Urg! Can't stand to hear stories like this, about controlling visionary executives who don't know how to use computers, so they hire a designer to doodle everything they think about in Photoshop, with puke colors and triple-nested hamburger menus because they like those things, or else you're fired.

      What's worse is that people tell you to "pick your battles" because you might upset someone in a company. At that point, it's time to get out anyway.

        Yeah a bit difficult to 'pick your battles' when you have fours kids and a wife and rent/mortgage. Sometimes the best advice is 'suck it up' and then just look elsewhere.

          Absolutely, I agree. It isn't easy with all of that responsibility. And maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like the design industry is doing just fine, so the job opportunities are many. All I'm saying is, when the chance to work for someone who is worth your time and respect arises, take it!
